If you look for us in the Jothi Complex on Darbar Road, you will find Sri Bagavanti Stores at shop number 21. It is a bit tucked away, but most folks around here know where it is. We have been in this spot for a good while, and the routine hasn't changed much over the years. The morning starts with opening the heavy shutters and letting some air in, though being in a complex means it stays a bit dim inside until the lights are on. We stock all sorts of things, mostly the basic stuff people need for their homes. Sometimes the deliveries arrive all at once, and the narrow walkway gets a little blocked with crates, but we try to move them quickly. It gets noisy on Darbar Road during the peak hours, so we usually have the radio playing in the background to balance out the traffic sounds. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know where every single item is kept, even if it looks a bit cluttered to an outsider. The shelves are wooden and show some wear, but they hold the weight just fine. People stop by for a chat while they pick up their oil or flour. It is a simple way to spend the day, making sure the stock is right and the change is ready for the customers. We don't do anything too fancy here, just basic shopkeeping for the neighborhood.
