Sivakalai Departmental Store

We have been running Sivakalai Departmental Store for some time now at No 32 on Kalapati Main Road. It is right in Saravanampatti, just across from SMS Mahal and near Marvel Paramparium. The shop is basically a place where you can find your daily groceries without much fuss. We started this because the neighborhood needed a spot for regular items. It gets quite crowded in the evenings when people are heading back from their offices. We try to keep things organized, but with so many items like pulses, oils, and snacks, the shelves stay pretty full. Sometimes the floor gets a bit dusty because of the traffic on the main road outside. It is just me and a couple of others working here most days. We know most of the people who live in the apartments nearby. They come in for milk or bread and stay to chat for a minute. We don't have fancy lights or anything. It's just a normal store for your house needs. Dealing with suppliers is a bit of a headache sometimes, especially when they forget to bring the specific brands people ask for. We try our best to keep enough stock of everything. If you are passing by Saravanampatti, you will see our board clearly. We keep the doors open till about ten at night. It's a busy life but we like being part of this area. The morning shift starts early with the milk delivery guy banging on the door before the sun is even up properly.
