Shanti Niketan Matriculation School

You can find us at number 47 in Kamala Nagar, right off Nehruji Road. It is a fairly quiet spot compared to the main markets, which is nice for a school. We have been running Shanti Niketan for a good while now. The school follows the matriculation system, so it is pretty straightforward. Our rooms are filled with desks and chairs that have been used by many brothers and sisters over the years. We have a small courtyard where the kids gather for assembly in the mornings. It gets a bit cramped when everyone is there at once, but we make it work. The staff here is a small group, and we all help out with whatever needs doing, whether it’s fixing a broken window or sorting out the registers. We don’t have a big fancy office; usually, the principal is just sitting at a desk near the entrance. Parents often stop by to chat when they are picking up their little ones. It feels more like a big family than a formal institution. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to open all the windows to keep the rooms cool, but the kids don't seem to mind. We just focus on the lessons and making sure the children are learning what they need to. It is a humble place, and we like it that way. We just keep our heads down and do our jobs for the families in Kamala Nagar.
