Our business is over in Ganapathy, on Sathi Road, at Door No. 1-1017 in the Lakshmipuram area. It’s a busy part of town and we have been here for quite some time now. We handle all kinds of supplies for the hospitality trade, like hotels and small eateries. It’s not really a fancy showroom like you might see in the city center. It’s more of a practical space where people come to talk about what they need for their kitchens. We have piles of plates, burners, and various kitchen tools stacked up on the shelves. Sometimes it is a bit hard to walk through the aisles without bumping into a crate or a box. My nephew helps me out with all the orders and deliveries. We are not very good with computers, so we still write most of our notes and orders in big paper ledgers. The ceiling fans are always running because the humidity can be quite tough here. We know most of the local restaurant owners by their names because they’ve been coming to us for years. They often drop by for a quick tea and to see if we have any new stock that might help them out. We don’t have a sales team or any big ads. It is just us and the inventory. Some days are quiet and we just watch the traffic on Sathi Road, while other days we are busy loading trucks until late at night.
