Orphans Educational And Welfare Centre(School And Hostel)

Our center is located on Dr. Radhakrishna Street, right in the Doctor’s Colony part of Gandhipuram. We do a couple of different things here, running both a school and a hostel for the children who need it. It’s a busy place throughout the day and night because many of the kids live here full-time. That means there is always someone around, even during the evenings and on the weekends when other schools are closed. The building is in the Tatabad area of Coimbatore and has been there for a long time. It’s a bit of an older structure, but it’s sturdy and provides what we need. We have specific rooms for sleeping and other rooms set aside for studying and classes. It’s not a corporate or professional environment at all. It feels much more like a very large and busy household. The staff here does a bit of everything, from teaching the daily lessons to helping with the cooking and cleaning. We deal with all the normal stuff like scraped knees, lost shoes, and helping with difficult homework every night. The neighborhood is fairly central in the city, so it’s easy for us to get whatever supplies we need from the local shops nearby. We don't have extra money for fancy decorations, so the walls are mostly just painted in plain colors. It’s about providing a safe roof and a basic education to the children who stay with us here.
