Nimalan Coffee House

Nimalan Coffee House is right on Avinashi Road, specifically at number 97 in Peelamedu. It’s a very busy part of Gandhipuram, so there is never a quiet moment outside our front door. The cars and buses are always rushing by, and that brings a lot of people into the shop. We have a few tables where people can sit, but many of them are in a hurry. They just want their coffee so they can get back to whatever they were doing. The building is older, and you can see the wear on the floor where people have walked for years. We don’t mind it; it gives the place some character. My family helps out behind the counter, and we all have our own way of doing things. Sometimes we argue about who makes the best cup, but it’s all in good fun. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but we’ve stayed right here. The morning rush is the hardest part of the day. You have to be quick or people get grumpy. We don't use any fancy gadgets, just the same methods we’ve used since the beginning. It works for us and it works for the customers. We just keep the beans roasted and the milk fresh and the sugar jars full. It’s a simple business on a very busy street, and we are happy to be a part of it and see the regulars every morning when the traffic starts picking up before the sun gets too hot.
