New Velar Mathi Salon

Started out in the Nanjapan Building a while back. It is right on Gopalsamy Street here in Ganapathy. Usually, the morning starts with sweeping the front and getting the towels ready. Being near the KVB ATM means there is always someone walking past the window. Coimbatore gets pretty warm, so we keep the fans going all day. The shop isn't huge, but it fits what we need. People from around the neighborhood stop in, some we've known for years and others just passing through. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but that's just how it is. We keep the mirrors clean and the scissors sharp. It's a simple life running a salon in this part of town. The chairs have some wear on them now, but they are comfortable enough for a quick trim. Most days it’s just the sound of the scissors and maybe some music on a small radio in the corner. We don't have fancy decorations or anything. Just the basic stuff to get the job done. Often, customers talk about their day or what’s happening at the market. It feels like a small community here in Ganapathy. We just try to stay open on time and make sure everyone leaves looking a bit neater than when they walked in. It's nothing too complicated, just a local spot for a haircut and a chat.
