New Kumar Stores

We are over in Peelamedu, right on Masakkalipalayam Road at No 77. You can find us easily because we’re directly opposite the SBH Bank. New Kumar Stores is where we sell daily essentials to the local crowd. It’s a busy street with people going to the bank or the nearby colleges every day. We’ve been here for a good number of years now. The shop is packed with bags of rice, detergents, and all kinds of plastic items for the house. It’s not a very big space, so we have to be smart about how we stack things to fit everything in. My brother and I run the place ourselves. We don’t have any fancy signs or clever slogans. We just open the shutters in the morning and start serving. Sometimes the bank customers come over to buy something while they’re waiting for their work to be done. We get a lot of students from the nearby institutions too. It’s a friendly atmosphere in here. We don’t use any digital tools for our inventory; we just look at the shelves to see what’s running low and order more. The floor is a bit uneven in places, but it doesn't bother anyone. It’s a typical Coimbatore neighborhood shop. We like the routine of it all. There’s always someone to talk to, and there’s always something that needs to be moved or cleaned in the back. It's a simple life.
