New Castle Public School

New Castle Public School is situated in Solipalayam, at No 74/1 D in the 15 Velampalayam area of Tirupur. This is a very industrial part of the city, so we are surrounded by textile units and large warehouses. The school itself is a plain, functional building. Despite the name, it is not a castle, just a regular place made of bricks and mortar where we conduct our classes. Our students mostly come from the families living in the nearby residential blocks and workers from the local factories. It can be quite noisy during the day because of the industrial activity nearby, but the students and teachers have mostly gotten used to it. The staff works hard to keep the place running and the classrooms in good order. We have a small yard for the kids, but most of the time is spent inside for lessons. The desks and chairs are made of wood and show a lot of wear from years of use. We aren't trying to compete with the more modern, expensive schools. We just stick to the curriculum and ensure the kids show up and do their work. Most of our interaction with parents happens briefly at the gate during drop-off or pick-up. It is a very grounded place with no pretenses at all. We just keep the lights on and the books open every single day. It can be a bit of a grind, but that is just the reality of it.
