Nalanda School

Nalanda School is located out on the By Pass Road in Komarapalayam, which is on the edge of Coimbatore. Our official mailing address is Post Box No.161, but the school itself is right there where the road is busy with trucks and cars passing by. It is a bit of a different setting than a school in the middle of a residential street, but it works for us. We have a fair amount of space around the building, which is nice for when the students need to be outside. The rooms are basic and functional, with plenty of benches and blackboards that have seen many years of use. We mostly serve the families from the nearby areas who need a school that is easy to reach from the highway. The noise from the By Pass Road is something we have just gotten used to over time; it's like background music now. Our teachers come in every morning and get straight to work on the day's lessons. We don't have any fancy gadgets, just the usual books and supplies that you find in any regular school. The day usually ends around four o'clock, and then it is time to clear the classrooms and get ready for the next morning. It is a steady, predictable life here, and we like the routine of it all for the kids and staff.
