Nalanda English Medium High School

Our school is over at B 10 on Mettupalayam Road in the Cheran Nagar area. It’s a pretty easy place to find if you’re in this part of Coimbatore. We’ve been operating as an English medium high school for quite a few years now. The road outside is always busy with traffic, but once you step inside the gates, it’s all about the kids and their lessons. We aren't a fancy private academy with uniforms that cost a fortune. We’re more of a neighborhood school where people feel comfortable. The staff here are mostly local, and we spend our time making sure the classrooms are ready and the lessons are planned out. It’s not always perfect; sometimes the power goes out or we have to move a class because of a leak, but we just get on with it. We don’t use a lot of big words or promotional talk when we speak to parents. We just tell them how their children are doing in class. We teach the usual subjects and try to make sure everyone keeps up. The playground isn't huge, but the kids seem to enjoy it well enough during their breaks. It’s a lot of responsibility, looking after all these students, but it’s what we’ve chosen to do. We just keep our heads down and focus on the day-to-day work of running a school in a busy city. It’s steady work and we’re glad to be here.
