Nalada Gramina High School

Our school sits on West Arunachalam Street, right in the R S Puram area of Coimbatore. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always something going on outside our gate at No 206. We handle high school students here, which is a lot different from the primary schools. The teenagers are louder and have more on their minds. The building has seen many years of students passing through its doors. We spend our mornings checking attendance and making sure the classrooms are opened up. The teachers are usually seen carrying stacks of papers or hurrying to the next period. It’s a plain place, nothing too special to look at, but it does its job for the neighborhood. R S Puram is a nice area, though parking on our street can be a real headache sometimes. We have a lot of benches and old blackboards that have been scrubbed clean a thousand times. During the exam season, the whole place goes quiet and you can feel the tension in the air. Then the bell rings and everyone pours out into the street to find snacks or head home. We just stay here and get ready for the next day. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the government rules and the student records, but we manage. We aren’t doing anything revolutionary, just running a school for the local kids who need to get their high school certificates.
