Muktajivan English School

Muktajivan English School is found in the Emkay Complex on Kangeyam Road. Nallur is a part of Tirupur that stays pretty active because of all the textile work around. Being in a commercial complex means we share space with other businesses, which is just the way it worked out for us. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs to get to the classrooms. The sound of the traffic on Kangeyam Road is always there in the background, like a constant hum throughout the day. We have kids coming in from different parts of the city, mostly from families working in the nearby factories. The rooms are a bit tight, but we’ve arranged the benches so everyone can see the board. We spend a lot of time on the basics, like reading and writing, without any of the fancy technology you find in expensive schools. The staff room is a small corner where we keep the water pot and our tiffin boxes for lunch. Sometimes the parents stop by after their shift to ask about their child’s progress, and we talk while the machines in the nearby shops are still running. It’s a very practical sort of place for a school. We don’t have a big grassy field for sports, but the kids find ways to play in the corridors or the small open area we have. It’s just a local school in a busy building, trying to teach.
