Moulana Azad Memorial High School

If you walk down Velandipalayam in Coimbatore, you’ll find us at number 7 in the Ramasamy Layout. Moulana Azad Memorial High School has been part of this community for a long time. It’s a quiet enough spot, tucked away from the main road traffic, which is nice for the students. Every day is pretty much the same routine. The gates open, the morning assembly happens out in the yard, and then everyone heads into their rooms. We have a small staff here, and most of us have been working together for years. We know the parents and we see the kids growing up right in front of us. The classrooms aren't anything fancy, just plain rooms with benches and blackboards, but they serve the purpose well. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just open the windows wider to let the breeze in. We spend a lot of time grading papers and talking about how to manage the next sports day or the upcoming exams. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. The layout is mostly residential, so we have to be careful not to make too much noise during our break times. We’ve got a small library that we’re quite proud of, even if the books are a bit worn out from so many hands touching them. It’s just a normal local school where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We just keep things moving along every day.
