About Morarji Desai Residential School (Sc) – Education in Coimbatore
Our school is based over at No 59 B in the W Block of Kovaipudur, Coimbatore. It is a bit of a quieter spot compared to the middle of the city, which is nice for a residential school. We have kids staying here throughout the school terms, so they are with us day and night. The building is a simple two-story structure where we have the hostel rooms on one side and the classrooms on the other. Because the students live here, it starts to feel like a small community after a while. The morning routine is very predictable; everyone wakes up, gets washed, and heads over to the dining hall. We serve simple food like rice, sambar, and vegetables, depending on what we can get from the market. We have a small office near the main gate where we keep all the records and handle the daily paperwork. The classrooms are basic, with wooden benches and old blackboards that have seen a lot of use. It isn't a fancy place, but it serves its purpose. In the afternoons, the students spend time in the common areas or doing their daily chores. We try to keep the place as clean as we can, though with so many young people around, there is always a bit of tidying up to do. The weather in Kovaipudur is usually pleasant, which is good when the students are outside in the evenings. We deal with the usual daily issues like lost pens or helping a student who feels a bit homesick. It is just a regular, honest place to live and learn.
