Morarji Desai Residential School For Minorities

This school is located at No 37A/B on the 80 Feet Road in the Sowripalayam area of Coimbatore. This is a busy part of the city, so there is always the sound of traffic coming from the street outside. As a residential school for minorities, we have a variety of kids who live here full-time. The building is tucked in between other properties, but we managed to fit in the dormitories and the classrooms. Life here is mostly about following the daily schedule. We get started early with breakfast and then go straight into the day's lessons. The classrooms can be a bit cramped when everyone is inside, but we make do with the desks and benches we have. Since the students live on the premises, the staff has to be ready for anything at any time, whether it is a student feeling unwell or a light fixture that needs fixing. We have a small courtyard in the middle where everyone gathers for the morning assembly or just to sit for a bit in the evening. The 80 Feet Road is a convenient location for getting supplies, but we have to keep a close eye on the traffic near the front gate. In the evenings, you can see the students sitting together in the main hall to finish their homework. We don't have any high-tech equipment or fancy labs; it is mostly just books, paper, and hard work. It is a plain building where we focus on looking after the kids and getting through the school year.
