Madheena Supermarket

If you’re walking down Big Bazaar Street in Coimbatore, you’ll find us near the railway bridge. It’s a loud area with the trains passing and all the shops lined up together, but that’s just how Town Hall is. Madheena Supermarket has been at this 18/68 spot for a bit now. Inside, it's mostly rows of groceries and plastic items for the house. We don’t have those fancy displays you see in the city malls, just sturdy shelves that we keep filling up as soon as things sell out. The floor gets a bit dusty from all the foot traffic coming in off the street, so we’re always sweeping. Saturday afternoons are the toughest because everyone seems to come in at the same time for their weekly supplies. We try to keep the billing moving fast, but sometimes there’s a wait. People usually chat while they stand in line, talking about the weather or local news. We carry most brands of cooking oil, rice, and those big packets of biscuits. Our staff members mostly live nearby, so they know which shortcuts to take when they're coming in for their shifts. It’s a busy life here near the bridge. We just focus on keeping the stock ready and making sure the lights stay on. It’s a simple operation, really. Nothing too complicated, just a neighborhood store trying to keep things going in a very crowded part of the city.
