Kanagamani Departmental Store

The store is on Avinashi Road, right in the Aerodrome area of Coimbatore. We are Shop No 36, and if you look across the street, you will see the Madhusuthana Weigh Bridge. It’s a busy spot with lots of trucks and traffic going past all the time. Running Kanagamani Departmental Store takes up most of my time. We have shelves reaching up to the ceiling because we try to fit in as many items as we can. It is a mix of everything, from plastic buckets to packets of spices and soaps. I usually spend the first hour of the day just checking what sold out yesterday. Coimbatore can get dusty, so cleaning the glass counters is a never-ending job. We aren't a big chain store, so things are a bit more personal here. People stop by to talk while they pick up their monthly groceries. Sometimes the billing takes a minute if the machine acts up, but nobody seems to mind much. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a while. The 641014 zip code is home to us. It feels good when a regular customer comes in and I already know what they are looking for. We just keep the doors open and try to have what people need so they don’t have to go all the way into the city center. It's just a regular shop doing regular business every day. Sometimes we run out of things, but we always try to get them back in stock quickly.
