Juicy Bon

Juicy Bon is right at the corner of Kangayam Road, which is pretty much where everyone waits for the buses. Being near the CTC bus stop means there is always a lot of noise and people running to catch their ride. We are at No:116 and it is a spot that gets a lot of sun in the afternoon. We spend a lot of time cutting up fruit and getting the blenders ready. The floor is usually a bit damp because we are always washing something. It is not a very large shop but we make it work by keeping everything in its place. When the big buses pull up, a cloud of dust and exhaust comes in, so we have to keep the counters wiped down constantly. We see the same faces every morning, people who are heading to work and need something cold. It gets really hectic around 5 PM when the offices close and the bus stop gets packed. Sometimes we run out of ice and someone has to run and get more. We do not have fancy chairs or anything, just a simple counter and the fruit piled up in the back. It is a lot of standing and peeling and talking to people over the sound of the traffic outside. That corner is never quiet, but we have gotten used to the buzz of Kangayam Road over the years. We just keep our heads down and work until the last bus of the night passes by the corner.
