Janapriya Departmental Stores

Janapriya Departmental Stores is right at number 3 in Mayilam Market. We’re on the Tanjore Main Road, so it’s pretty easy to spot us. We are actually quite close to the Market Police Station, which makes it a very safe and recognizable area. We’ve been running the store for quite some time now. It’s a family-run kind of place. Most days, you’ll find one of us behind the counter or restocking the shelves. The market is always buzzing with people, especially in the mornings when everyone is out doing their shopping. It gets a bit loud, but we like the energy. We try to keep everything people need in one spot so they don't have to walk all over the place. The shelves are packed pretty tight because we want to have a good variety. It might look a little disorganized to an outsider, but we know exactly where every single item is. Sometimes the floor gets a bit scuffed from all the foot traffic, but that just means we’re busy. We don’t have a website or anything like that. We just rely on people walking by and the folks who live nearby. It’s a simple shop. We know most of our customers by name, which is the best part of being here. It’s hard work, standing on your feet all day, but it’s what we know.
