Infant Jesus Nusery And Primary School

Living and working in LIC Colony means we are part of a real neighborhood here in Kurichi. Our school, Infant Jesus Nursery and Primary, is right in the middle of it. If you walk by in the morning, you’ll hear the kids singing or reciting their tables through the open windows. Coimbatore mornings can be nice and cool, but by the time the primary kids go for their break, it warms up quite a bit. The building isn't huge, but it fits us just fine for what we do. We have small chairs and colorful charts pinned to the walls. Most of the charts are a bit faded from the sun over the years. The teachers spend their breaks sitting in the small office area, marking books with red pens. We have a lot of parents who drop by just to check on their little ones or to pay the fees at the small counter. Kurichi is a busy part of town, so there’s always the sound of traffic in the distance. We keep a close eye on the front gate because the kids are so small. Our day is mostly filled with spills, laughter, and the occasional scraped knee. It’s a lot of work looking after nursery children, and by 3:30 PM, we are all pretty exhausted. We pack up the bags, make sure everyone finds their rickshaw or parent, and then we tidy up the blocks and toys for the next morning.
