Gs Maligai

People know us as Gs Maligai and you can find us at No:7-A on Pitchai Moideen Lane. It is right off Big Bazaar Street. The lane is usually a bit narrow so if you are coming with a big vehicle it might be tight but people manage. We have been here for some time now and most of the regulars just walk in. The morning starts early around six or seven when the first few people stop by before work. There is always a lot of noise from the main road nearby but the lane itself stays a little quieter. We keep things on the shelves where they have always been so nobody has to ask where the rice or the lentils are. The floor gets a bit dusty by noon because of all the feet coming in and out. It’s a plain place with not much decoration on the walls. We just focus on getting the bags packed and making sure the change is right. Sometimes the delivery truck is late and we have to wait around. That is just how it goes here. Most of the time it is just steady. We spend a lot of time talking to the neighbors about the weather or how busy the street is getting these days. It is just a regular shop in a busy part of town and we like it that way. No fancy lights or big signs, just the name on the board above the door.
