Global Plants Nursery

Walking around the yard at 149 Union Mill Road, you'll see a lot of green, but also plenty of mud and empty plastic pots. We spend most of our hours out in the dirt here at the nursery. It’s not a perfectly manicured place like a public park. There are piles of soil in the corners and some of the benches are a bit wobbly from the rain. We have plants all over the place, and some look better than others depending on how the sun hits them that week. If it is a particularly hot afternoon, we spend most of the time dragging heavy hoses around to keep everything alive. It gets tiring on the back. People stop by when they want a bush for their front yard or maybe some flowers for a pot. We don't have a showroom with air conditioning. It is just the open yard and the plants. Sometimes the gate is a bit hard to open when the weather is damp. We try to keep the rows organized, but when a new shipment of small trees comes in, the whole place gets chaotic for a few days. We don't use fancy terms for what we do. We just plant things, give them water, and wait for them to grow. No big logos or matching uniforms here. Just some people who know how to use a shovel and don't mind getting their boots dirty every day.
