Geco Special Machiners

We are located over at 25 H Rajaji Nagar, right off the main Trichy Road. It is a spot where you get a lot of dust from the traffic passing by, but it’s a good place for a machine shop. We call ourselves Geco Special Machiners because we tend to work on things that aren't just standard off-the-shelf parts. Most days, you’ll find us hunched over a lathe or a milling machine trying to get a measurement exactly right. It is slow work sometimes. You can't rush it when you are working with metal. The shop isn't anything special to look at. We have the heavy machines bolted to the floor and racks of raw steel and aluminum against the walls. There is a small desk in the corner where we keep the ledger and the phone. We don't spend much money on decorations or fancy signs. Most of our tools have been with us for years and they still work better than the new stuff. When the power goes out, which happens sometimes, we just sit outside on the steps and wait for it to come back on. The neighbors in Rajaji Nagar are mostly other small workshops or houses. We try not to be too loud too early in the morning, but work is work. If someone brings in a broken part from a tractor or a factory machine, we take a look and see what we can do. It's just us and the metal.
