Ganapathy Department Stores

Ganapathy Department Stores is located at 54M, Kunnathuri in Kovil Palayam. It is a typical local store where we have a bit of everything on the shelves. It’s not a huge supermarket, just a regular place for people in the neighborhood. We spend a lot of time stocking the shelves and checking the dates on things. The floor is made of old stone and it’s seen a lot of feet over the years. We have a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day long to keep the air moving. It can get pretty warm in Kunnathuri during the summer months. We know most of the people who come in by their first names. It is a quiet kind of life here. We don’t have fancy displays or bright neon lights. Usually, the radio is playing softly in the background while we work. The back storage room is always a bit of a mess, no matter how much we try to tidy it up. We have stacks of boxes waiting to be unpacked most days. It is just a matter of keeping the basics in stock for the families around here. We don’t do anything special for promotion, just keep the doors open from morning until late evening. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use flashlights for a bit. It’s just part of running a shop in Kovil Palayam. We just keep going.
