G K L Traders

G K L Traders is our business at 18 Marudhamalai Road in M G Colony. We’ve been operating from this same spot for a long time. The street outside is usually lined with parked scooters and delivery vans. It’s a trading business, so our day is mostly about counting stock and making sure things get loaded onto the trucks correctly. The office is just a small room at the front with a couple of desks and a dusty computer. We don't spend much money on decor. We think it’s better to just keep things moving. M G Colony is a good neighborhood, and we know most of the other shop owners around here. We usually share a tea in the afternoon when things slow down a bit. Marudhamalai Road can get quite congested, but we’ve learned how to time our deliveries around the traffic. We don't have a big website or a social media person. We just answer the phone and talk to whoever walks through the door. Some days are slow and we just sit and read the paper, while other days we don't even have time to eat lunch. It’s a basic way of living and working, but it’s what we know. We’ve been here through the good years and the lean ones. There’s always work to do, whether it's checking invoices or just cleaning up the warehouse space in the back.
