Foretec Engineers

Foretec Engineers is located at No.108 in the Tex Spares Complex on Cox Street. Kattoor is a place where you can always hear the sound of metal being worked on. We’ve got our space here among a lot of other engineering shops. It’s a busy environment. There is always someone shouting over a machine or the sound of a grinder going somewhere nearby. We spend our days looking at drawings and then trying to make those pieces of metal match what’s on the paper. It isn't always easy. Sometimes the machines act up or the material we get isn't quite right. My desk is right in the middle of it all, so it’s never really quiet. We don't have a big corporate structure. It’s mostly just a few of us who know how to handle the tools. We eat lunch together near the back where it’s a bit cooler. The Tex Spares Complex is an old building, so it has its quirks, like the occasional leak or a door that won't stay open. We don't worry about making the place look like a showroom. It’s a workshop, plain and simple. We focus on the engineering side of things. Most of our day is spent measuring, cutting, and fitting things together. It’s greasy and loud, but that is how engineering goes. When the sun goes down, we lock up and head home like everyone else on Cox Street.
