N.M. Engineering Industries

We've been at 472-A on Kamarajar Road for a good while now. Peelamedu is a busy spot, and N.M. Engineering Industries is right in the middle of it. Most days it’s just us working through the jobs that come in. There is always a lot of noise from the machines, but that's how it goes here. People stop by and ask if we can fix something or make a part, and we just look at what needs doing. It’s not fancy. The floor usually has some metal shavings on it. We open up in the morning, get the lights on, and start the machines. Sometimes the tea guy comes by, and we take a quick break. The address is easy to find if you know Kamarajar Road. We have our tools and the space we need to get through the orders. It’s a lot of metal work mostly. Some days are longer than others, especially when a big project is sitting on the floor. We don't have a big front office or anything like that. You just walk in and talk to whoever is around. Most of the guys here have been doing this for years, so they know the machines pretty well. We just keep our heads down and handle the engineering work as it comes. It's just a regular shop in Peelamedu, really. We try to keep things moving. It gets hot in the afternoons but the fans help a bit. That's pretty much life at N.M. Engineering Industries.
