Gokul Engineering

Our workshop is located at 11/352/1 on Pappampatti Road. It’s out in Kannampalayam, which is just via Sulur. If you are familiar with this part of Coimbatore, you know it’s a hub for small engineering units. Gokul Engineering is just one of those places where the noise of lathes and milling machines never really stops. We started small with just a couple of machines and a lot of hope. Now we have a few more people helping out. It’s not a corporate setup. It is just a shed where we get our hands greasy every day. We do a lot of job work for bigger factories nearby. Sometimes we stay late to finish a batch of components because the deadline is tight. The road outside can get quite busy with lorries and bikes. We usually have our tea breaks standing outside the gate. It’s a tight-knit community here in Kannampalayam. Everyone knows everyone else’s business. We don't spend money on big ads. Most of our work comes from word of mouth or people just dropping by. We focus on getting the dimensions right and making sure the metal is good. It’s not complicated. We just show up, do the machining, and go home to our families. Some of the machines are old but they still run perfectly if you treat them right. That is how we operate every single day and we like it because it is steady.
