D Store Mart

D Store Mart is right on the Varatharaja Puram Main Road, specifically at 36 27 in Uppalipaliyam. It’s a busy street, so there’s always noise from the bikes and cars passing by. We opened this mart because we saw a need for a local shop in this part of town. The shelves are packed with all sorts of things, from household items to snacks. It’s not a giant supermarket where you get lost. It’s a bit cramped, to be honest, but we know where everything is. We spend most of our time restocking or helping someone find a specific brand of soap. There are no fancy uniforms here. We just wear what’s comfortable for moving boxes around. The floor is tiled but has some scuffs from all the foot traffic. Sometimes the billing machine acts up, and we have to do it by hand for a bit. That’s just life in a small store. We don't have any polished slogans. We’re just here from morning until late evening. The regulars come in and chat for a minute before heading home. It feels like a community hub in a way. Uppalipaliyam is a good place to be, and we’re happy to have our little corner on the main road. We just try to keep the lights on and the shelves full. It’s simple work, but it keeps us on our feet.
