Cheran Store

Cheran Store is right at 850A, Raja Street. It’s an old part of the Townhall area and it gets really crowded during the festival seasons. The shop is small but we try to keep a bit of everything on the shelves. You can hear the buses and cars honking all day from the front door. We open up early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. Most of our customers are people who live in the nearby streets and have been coming to us for years. We know what they want before they even ask sometimes. It’s not a fancy place with bright lights or big signs. The floor is old and the wooden shelves are a bit worn out, but they hold the stock just fine. We spend a lot of time restocking the items and chatting with the people who stop by for a minute. The street outside is always full of activity. Sometimes the rain comes down hard and we have to pull the shutters halfway. We don't have many employees, just a couple of us who take turns behind the counter. It's a simple way to live. We've seen a lot of other shops open and close around us while we've stayed here at 850A. We don't do any big advertising or anything like that. People just know where we are. It’s a bit dusty and the space is tight, but it’s our place. We’ve been here for many years now.
