Chennai Super Strong Tea

Chennai Super Strong Tea is tucked away at 24, Pillaiyar Kumarakom Street. Chettipalayam is where we are located. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but that makes it a bit quieter for us. We mostly deal with strong tea blends that people around here seem to like. The shop is small and we’ve filled every inch with tea containers. We don't really have a big staff. It's just a few of us who have known each other for a long time. The street is narrow, so we have to be careful when the stock arrives. Sometimes we have to carry the boxes by hand from the corner. It’s good exercise, I guess. The building is old and has that specific smell of wood and tea. We don't use fancy computers for everything; a lot of our notes are still on paper. We like it that way. It feels more real. On rainy days, the water drips a little near the front door, so we put a bucket there. It’s not perfect, but it’s our place. People stop by to chat even if they aren't buying anything. That’s just the way it is in Chettipalayam. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just provide tea from our little spot on Pillaiyar Kumarakom Street and keep the lights on. It’s a steady life and we’re okay with how things are.
