Balaji Store

Balaji Store is tucked away on Sastri Road in Rathinapuri. If you know the area in Coimbatore, you probably know where the MGR Statue is, and we are quite close to that landmark. It’s a lively neighborhood to be in. We deal with all the basic things a house needs, from spices and lentils to cleaning supplies. The store isn't huge, but we try to cram in as much as we can so nobody has to go too far to find what they're looking for. Rathinapuri has its own vibe, and we’ve been part of it for a while now. Some mornings are just a blur of people coming in for milk before the sun is even fully up. We spend quite a bit of time just chatting with the regulars who have lived in these streets for decades. Sometimes the shelf space gets a bit tight and things look a little cluttered, but that’s just how a real local shop is. We don’t spend money on fancy displays or anything. We’d rather just make sure we have the right brands of tea and soap that people like. It gets a bit noisy with the traffic near the statue, but you get used to it after a few years. We just keep our heads down and focus on the daily chores, like checking the expiry dates and making sure the floor stays swept. It’s simple work, but it keeps us busy from morning till night. We are usually here every single day.
