Ambal Driving School

Ambal Driving School is based out in Settipalayam, over in the Malumichampatty area of Coimbatore. We have a small office where we handle all the paperwork and bookings. Most of our day is spent out on the roads rather than sitting behind a desk. We use a few different cars, and they’ve definitely seen some wear and tear from all the learners practicing their clutch control and gear shifts. The traffic around Malumichampatti can be a bit tricky for beginners, but that’s just how you learn to drive in the real world. We aren't a big franchise with glossy brochures. It’s just us helping people get their licenses so they can get to work or run their errands. Sometimes the cars need a bit of work because the brakes get used a lot, and we’re often at the mechanic's shop. We know most of the people in the neighborhood by now. The sun in Coimbatore gets pretty sharp in the middle of the day, so we try to schedule the drives early or later when it’s cooler. It’s a simple business. We show people where the indicators are, how to reverse without hitting the curb, and what the road signs mean. There is a lot of waiting around at the RTO office too, which is just part of the job. We just take it one lesson at a time and try to stay patient with everyone. It gets tiring but it is what we do.
