People around Olavakkode know where we are. We sit here at Valikapotta House on Pump Engine Road. It is a busy spot in Palakkad and we spend our days looking at screens and talking to people about where they need to go. Sometimes it gets quite loud outside with the traffic, but we stay focused on the paperwork. Travel can be a headache for folks, so they come inside and ask us about flights or trains. We have been in this spot for a while now. It is not a fancy office with big glass walls or anything like that. Just some desks, chairs, and computers. We know the neighbors and the local shops nearby. When someone walks in, they usually have a lot of questions about visas or prices. We just try to give them the information straight. Kerala is a big place for people moving around, and being here in Palakkad puts us right in the middle of things. We don't spend much time on decorations. Most of our day is just spent on the phone or typing. It is regular work, nothing too glamorous. We make sure the files are organized and the tickets are printed right. It's just us here working through the pile of requests that come in every morning from the local community and others passing through.
