Aasai Departmental Stores

Aasai Departmental Stores is right on Thadagam Road in Coimbatore. We are very close to the Government College of Technology, so we get a lot of students coming in throughout the day. Our address is 336, and being near the GCT campus means there is always energy around. We stock a lot of different things because students need everything from notebooks to instant noodles, while the local families are looking for rice and cleaning supplies. It’s a busy departmental store. Sometimes the aisles are a bit tight because we’re trying to fit so much inventory in. We don’t have a fancy management team. It’s just us and a couple of helpers making sure the shelves are full. The morning rush is usually the local residents, and the afternoon is when the college crowd takes over. We’ve learned to move quickly to keep the lines moving. Coimbatore is a great city to work in, and this particular spot on Thadagam Road is always lively. We don’t use any polished language or big promises. We just stock what people buy and try to keep the shop clean. It gets dusty with the road being right there, so we’re always dusting the jars. We just enjoy the daily interaction with the students and the neighbors. It’s a lot of work but it keeps us going.
