Dakshini Veg Restaurant

Our restaurant is part of the Hotel Plr Grand in the T.P. Area of Tirupati. We are situated right next to the APSRTC bus stand, so we see a lot of people who have just arrived in town or are about to leave on a journey. Because of the location, we open early and stay open late. It’s a busy place with a lot of people coming and going. We serve vegetarian food, which is what most people are looking for when they visit this city. The dining hall is big enough to hold quite a few people at once. We don't have anything too fancy in terms of furniture, just simple tables that are easy to wipe down. Our cooks work fast because they know people are often in a hurry to catch a bus or head up the hill. The 517501 area is always crowded, and the noise from the bus stand carries over sometimes. We’ve been here for a while and have a rhythm to how we do things. We prepare large pots of sambar and chutney every morning. It’s a lot of work to keep up with the crowds, but we have a good team in the kitchen. We don’t do anything too complicated with the menu. It’s just the usual items that people expect from a south Indian veg place. You can just walk in from the street and find a table.
