Voltech Enginners Pvt Ltd operates out of a flat in Arunodaya Apartments. We are in Flat No.B-4 on the first floor, located at number 27 on 2nd Madley Street in T.Nagar. Being in T.Nagar means it is always incredibly loud outside with people shopping and buses honking constantly. The apartment itself is an older building, so it has that lived-in feel with thick walls and high ceilings. We have turned the different rooms of the flat into offices and storage for our engineering gear. There are wires and testing kits tucked into the corners, and the cupboards are full of old files and project folders. It is a bit of a walk up the stairs since the first floor isn't too high, but we definitely notice the heat in the stairwell during the summer months. Our desks are pushed against the walls to make enough space for everyone to move around without bumping into each other. We spend most of our time on technical drawings or talking to people about electrical and mechanical stuff. Sometimes the doorbell rings and it’s just a delivery or someone lost looking for a different flat in the building. It’s a very practical way to run a business, even if it feels more like a home than a corporate office. We just keep our heads down and get the engineering work done amidst the chaos of the city outside our balcony.
