Vikram Steel

Vikram Steel is located at Plot No. 38 on Ponappa Chetty Street. If you know Park Town, you know it’s a place where things happen. We deal in steel products, mostly just selling what people need for their building projects or repairs. The street can be very narrow and crowded with trucks loading and unloading, but that’s life in this part of the city. We’ve been here for a while and the building shows its age a bit. We don't mind. It’s a sturdy place and it holds all the heavy stock we keep on hand. Dealing with steel is heavy work, and our hands are usually a bit dirty by the end of the day. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that. We just talk to the people who walk in and help them find what they are looking for. Sometimes we have to hunt through the stacks to find the right size, but we usually have it somewhere. It’s a simple business. We buy steel, we store it, and we sell it. There’s no big secret to it. We like the neighborhood because it’s full of other businesses like ours. You get to know the other shop owners and we help each other out when we can. It’s a decent way to make a living and we plan on staying right here on this plot for a long time. It suits us just fine. We don't need to be anywhere else right now.
