You can find us over at 45/69 on TH Road. We are right in the heart of Old Washermenpet, which is a very crowded and noisy area. The shop is filled to the ceiling with all sorts of hardware. We’ve got buckets, coils of wire, jars of nails, and more wrenches than I can count. It’s a bit of a maze inside. I’ve lived in this part of town my whole life, so I know most of the people who walk through the door. We don’t have a website or anything like that. If someone needs a part for their plumbing or a specific bolt, they just come and ask. Half the time, I have to climb a ladder to find what they need. The dust gets on everything, no matter how much we sweep. It’s a physical job, moving heavy crates and opening boxes all day. The traffic on TH Road is always a nightmare, so we hear honking from morning until night. We usually have a radio playing somewhere in the back to drown out the noise. My nephew helps me out on the weekends when it gets especially busy. We don’t try to be fancy. It’s just a hardware store where you get what you need and maybe chat for a minute about the local news. The floor is cracked in a few places, but it’s been that way for years. It’s just how the shop is, and we like the familiarity of it after all this time.
