Vetri Fabrications

Vetri Fabrications is located at No. 217-B in the 8th Street of the SIDCO Industrial Estate. This is out in Thirumudivakkam. Being in an industrial estate means there are lots of other shops like ours nearby, so it is always very noisy with machines running and trucks moving in and out. We have a bit more space here because it is an industrial area. We do a lot of fabrication work that involves heavy metal sections. We have the bigger welding sets and cutting machines. It gets really hot inside the shed, especially during the afternoons. There is always the smell of burnt metal and paint in the air. We spend our time working on larger structures sometimes, or just batch orders for small parts. We do not have a fancy front or a place for people to sit comfortably. It is a workspace first and foremost. We wear our work clothes which are usually stained with oil and grease. The 8th Street can get a bit muddy when it rains, but we still keep the machines going. We just take the orders as they come from other businesses or local people. It is a lot of hard work and we stay busy from early morning. We just keep our heads down and finish the welding and the assembly as fast as we can. It is just how things go in this part of town.
