Venukanth Engineeris

Our shop is tucked away on Kalaingar Street over in Padhuvancherry. If you know where the Selaiyur post office is, we aren't too far from there. Venukanth Engineeris isn't a huge operation, just a local spot where we handle engineering work for whoever walks in. It’s a quiet enough street most days, though it picks up when people are heading home from work. I started this place because I wanted to work for myself after years of being in big factories. We do a lot of small jobs that the big companies don't want to touch. The shop is at number two, and it’s basically where I spend all my time. We have some older machines that still run perfectly fine if you know how to treat them. Sometimes the rain makes things a bit messy on the street, but we keep the inside tidy enough to get the work done. We don't have a website or anything, just the sign out front. Most of our customers are from right here in the neighborhood or nearby areas. They bring us something that needs welding or cutting, and we figure it out. It’s not glamorous work, but it pays the bills and keeps the community moving. We mostly talk to folks face-to-face. If I’m not there, my assistant usually is. We just take it day by day and try to do things properly without making a big fuss about it.
