Vedam Developers Private Limited has an office in the Anandam Apartments on Anandan Street. We are right in the middle of T. Nagar, specifically off North Usman Road. If you know Chennai, you know how packed and loud T. Nagar is at all hours of the day. Working out of an apartment like 3B gives us a bit of a homey feel, even though we are doing professional development work. Developing land and buildings in a crowded city like this is a massive challenge. Space is tight and the rules are complicated. We spend a lot of our time going through files and talking to the planning office. It is not like the movies where everything happens fast. It takes a lot of patience to develop a property here. We have a few desks squeezed into the rooms and there is always someone looking at a site map. We talk to contractors and architects all day. The noise from North Usman Road usually drifts in through the windows. We are a small team and we do our own filing and our own phone calls. We do not have a secretary or a big lobby. People just walk in and we sit down to talk about whatever project is on the table. It is a lot of hard work and staying organized is the only way we keep from getting overwhelmed. We are just local developers trying to make things work in the city.
