If you look for us, we’re in the Seawood building at Egattur. Specifically, we are in Wing A, room 2201, on Rajiv Gandhi Salai. It’s a big building and we’ve been here for a while now. VCAANBUILD Private Limited is our small company, and we focus on building work in the Kancheepuram area and around Chennai. The view from the office is alright, but mostly we are looking at our screens or discussing floor plans. It’s a practical workspace, often cluttered with samples of tiles or bits of hardware we’re testing out. Being on Rajiv Gandhi Salai means we’re right in the middle of all the growth happening in this part of the state. We don’t really have a big corporate structure. It’s just a few of us making decisions and making sure the sites are running okay. Most of our days are spent talking to contractors or trying to figure out logistics. It isn't always easy, and there are plenty of late nights spent here in Egattur. We don't make big promises, we just try to be honest about what we can do. Sometimes the traffic on the Salai is a nightmare, but that’s just part of living and working here. We like the work we do, even when it’s dusty and tiring. It’s satisfying to see a project go from a drawing to an actual structure people can use. That is basically our life at the office.
