A. J. K Tiles is located on Poonamalle High Road. We have the old number 431 and the new number 61, which sometimes confuses the delivery drivers, but we’re right there on the main road. This place is always busy with traffic rushing past. We’ve been here for a long time, watching the road get wider and the buildings get taller. Inside, it’s mostly stacks of tiles of all different sorts. We aren't those fancy showrooms with bright lights and coffee machines. We’re a bit more old-school than that. You walk in, you see the samples, and we tell you what’s in stock. Tiles are heavy and fragile at the same time, so we have to be very careful how we stack them. My staff and I spend a lot of time checking boxes for cracks. It’s a lot of paperwork too, keeping track of what’s coming from the factories and what’s going out to the sites. We handle all kinds of orders, from a few boxes for a bathroom repair to larger lots for new flats. The dust from the road comes in sometimes, so we’re always dusting things off. It's a straightforward business. We show up, we help the customers find a color they like, and we get it loaded up. No big speeches, just tiles and hard work on a busy road. We just try to get the job done right every day.
