V. Rajgopal & Co. Agencies (Pte) Limited has its office on the second floor of 206 Thambu Chetty Street. This is an old part of Chennai, and the street is always packed with people and small shops. Our building is quite traditional and has been around for many years. We have a post box number, Pb. No 1293, which we still use for a lot of our mail. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit narrow, so you have to be careful when you walk up. Inside, the office has that old-school agency feel with wooden desks and lots of ledgers. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but the ceiling fans keep the air moving well enough. We handle a lot of paperwork here for various agencies and it can get a bit cluttered with all the files we keep. Thambu Chetty Street is famous for this kind of work, so we are surrounded by other people doing similar things. It is a very busy area and parking is almost impossible, so most of us just take the bus or walk from the nearby station. We have been working from this same spot for a long time. It is not a modern glass building, but it is where we know how to get things done. The atmosphere is quiet inside compared to the shouting and horns on the street below.
