Grand Cargo Services is tucked away at No. 4/20 Kanchipuram Sabapathy Street in Sowcarpet. If you can find the Padmanaba Theater, we are right behind it. Being in Sowcarpet means it is always noisy and the streets are very narrow. There are always rickshaws and carts moving goods back and forth. Our place is basically a big room full of boxes, tape, and weighing scales. It’s dusty because of all the cardboard and the traffic outside. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. You walk in and you are pretty much in the middle of the work area. We spend most of the day loading things or writing out shipping labels by hand. The theater nearby sometimes has long lines that spill out into the street, which makes getting trucks in and out a bit of a challenge. We’ve been at this Sabapathy Street location for a good while, so the locals know us. The walls have some marks from boxes being stacked against them, and the ceiling fan is always on high speed to move the air around. It’s a busy, cramped space, but it’s where we get everything sorted and sent out. We don't worry about making the place look pretty; we just worry about getting the boxes where they need to go. Sometimes we share a snack with the drivers while they wait for their load.
