Uzhavu Organic

Uzhavu Organic is located at 12/196 Annai Kasturibai Gandhi Street in Medavakkam. We are right in the Pallikaranai area, quite close to the Reliance Sons outlet. The street is mostly residential, so we get a lot of local families coming in for their groceries. We carry things like unpolished rice, different types of pulses, and some traditional oils. The shop usually smells like dried grains and earthy things. We try to keep the stock fresh, so you might see bags of produce being moved around quite often. It’s not a huge supermarket, just a local shop where we know many of the people who walk through the door. Sometimes the supplies from the farms arrive late in the evening, and we have to stay a bit longer to get everything on the shelves. We use simple wooden racks for most of the items. There is a small desk near the entrance where we sit. It’s a quiet street for the most part, though it gets a bit busy on weekend mornings. We don't have many employees, just a few of us who handle the billing and help people find what they need. It’s a very straightforward business. We just want to provide the neighborhood with basic organic items without a lot of fuss. Most of our day is spent chatting with neighbors and making sure the jars are filled up.
