Organic Coffee Balmaadi Estate

Our office for Organic Coffee Balmaadi Estate is located at 6 Prithivi Avenue, on 2nd Street in West Abiramapuram. It’s a quiet residential street, which is nice because it’s a bit of a break from the noise of the main roads in Chennai. We handle the business side of the coffee estate from here. It’s mostly paperwork, answering the phone, and making sure the coffee bags are getting sent to the right addresses. You won't find a big factory here; it’s just our administrative spot. We have stacks of samples and sometimes the whole place smells like unroasted beans. It’s a small team, just a few of us who know the routine. We don't have any fancy signs outside or a lobby. Most of our work is done through calls or people we’ve known for a long time. The estate itself is far away, but this is where we keep the records and handle the logistics. We try to keep things simple. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the work is done right and the coffee gets to where it’s going. Sometimes we get behind on our emails when things get busy, but we eventually catch up. It’s a bit informal here, and we often have our meetings over a simple cup of whatever we’ve just brought in from the estate to try out ourselves.
