You can find Ucon Structural Systems over in Padmanabha Nagar. We are on 5th Street at number 45, though some of the older maps might still say number 23. Adyar is a busy part of Chennai, but our street is a bit more tucked away. We deal with the technical side of construction, specifically structural systems. It involves a lot of sitting at desks and figuring out how to make buildings sturdy. We aren't a huge corporation with departments and HR people. It is just a few of us who know how to handle the engineering side of things. The office is usually quiet, except for the sound of clicking mice and the occasional debate over a beam size. We’ve been working from this Chennai location for a good while. People around here know us as the guys who look at the structural integrity of their projects. We don't do much in the way of promotion. Most of our work comes from people we have worked with before. It’s a lot of checking and re-checking figures because you can't afford to be wrong in this line of work. We enjoy the process of seeing a project go from a drawing on our screen to a real structure in the city. It’s a steady rhythm of work that fills our days here in Padmanabha Nagar. We just focus on getting the details right and making sure the plans are solid before they go out.
